What is Pressure Balanced or Thermostatic Mixing Shower Valve? And how they differ from each other?
A Pressure-Balanced Valve undergoes a lot of pressure fluctuation when the supply shifts from cold water to Hot water and vice versa.
Temperature does not change during the Flow of water to the shower.
Overall Mechanism of Pressure Balanced shower valve is to maintain equilibrium when there is change in water pressure without affecting the main supply.
The Pressure balanced Shower Valve is recommended as it reduces the chances of blanch caused due to hot liquid or stream.
A Thermostatic valve is the Mixing valve that perfectly mixes the Cold water with Hot water to provide a safe and refreshing shower.
These valves also prevent any types of burns and thermo shock caused due to very hot water or stream.
They are best because they automatically shut down when there is failure to control the hot and cold water supply to prevent scalding.
A pressure Balanced just maintains the amount of cold and hot water supply coming out of shower whereas Thermostatic actually controls the temperature of water.
